Yesterday, millions of people around the nation came together in order to protest gun use with the famous hashtag, #marchforourlives.

Kids, students, and parents marched for their belief that guns must be regulated more efficiently in order to save lives around our country.

Here are some pictures and twitter posts from around the nation of yesterday’s march:

Emma Gonzalez, a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Fla.., spoke for just under 2 minutes before tens and thousands of demonstrators at the March for Our Lives rally in Washington, describing the effects of gun violence in emotional detail and reciting the names of classmates who had been killed in this great tragedy.

Then she was silent for 4 minutes and 26 seconds.

Paul McCartney attends #MarchForOurLives in New York, tweeting “One of my best friends was killed in gun violence… so it’s important to me.”

Smiley Pool Tweets from Dallas: “Photos: Thousands rally for gun control in downtown Dallas as part of the March for Our Lives protest #MarchForOurLives #Dallas”
