On January twentieth and twenty first, there will be a total lunar eclipse that will be visible throughout all of the United States, which will lead the moon to appear a shade of red. This is special not only because it is the only total lunar eclipse that will happen until May of 2021, but also because the moon will be at its closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit which will lead it to appear slightly larger in the night sky. Below are two photos taken of the eclipse at 10:14 and 11:00 in the evening on January 20, 2019.
