CHHS Cheer is hosting the 2nd annual Run for Rhyan to honor the life of Rhyan Michelle Moody and to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving.

​The Panther Cheer Program is holding this run to celebrate the wonderful life of former 14-year-old cheerleader Rhyan Michelle Moody. She passed away in November of 2017 due to being hit by a drunk driver.

Drunk Driving Facts:
About every 20 minutes in Texas, someone is hurt or killed in a vehicular crash involving alcohol.

In 2016, 987 people lost their lives to Texas DUI incidents, including 56 pedestrians and cyclists, 143 passengers in vehicles driven by DUI drivers, 638 DUI drivers, 149 persons in vehicles not driven by DUI drivers and one other.

Of 17,434 Texas DUI crashes, the five cities with the highest number of crashes were San Antonio: 1,845, Houston: 1,492, Austin: 1,432, Dallas: 1,310 and El Paso: 758.6.

This issue is not taken nearly as seriously as it should be, which is why you should come support this very important event.
